FORWARD HADRONIC SCATTERING FROM FEW GeV TO MULTI TeV WITHIN REGGE THEORY

چکیده

The Regge description of forward hadronic scattering is extended from ∼ 1GeV above each threshold up to the multi TeV range. This is achieved with a simple parametrization, that includes mass effects, a logarithmic growth based on an improved unitarity bound at intermediate energies and a separate factorization of singularities. This parametrization can be easily implemented for phenomenological use but also sheds light on subdominant trajectories and the Pomeron logarithmic growth law.

Regge analysis of pion - pion ( and pion - kaon ) scattering for energy

We perform a detailed Regge analysis of NN , πN , KN , ππ and πK scattering. From it, we find expressions that represent the ππ scattering amplitudes with an accuracy of a few percent, for exchange of isospin zero, and ∼ 15% for exchange of isospin 1, and this for energies s > 1.4GeV and for momentum transfers |t| < ∼ 0.4GeV. These Regge formulas are perfectly compatible with the low energy (s ...

Analytic parametrizations of the non-perturbative Pomeron and QCD-inspired models

We consider several classes of analytic parametrizations of hadronic scattering amplitudes, and compare their predictions to all available forward data (pp, p̄p, πp,Kp, γp, γγ,Σp). Although these parametrizations are very close for √ s ≥ 9 GeV, it turns out that they differ markedly at low energy, where a universal Pomeron term ∼ ln s enables one to extend the fit down to √ s = 4 GeV. 1 The COMP...

QCD Glueball Regge Trajectories and the Pomeron

We report glueball Regge trajectories emerging from diagonalizing a confining Coulomb gauge Hamiltonian for constituent gluons. Using a BCS vacuum ansatz and gap equation, the dressed gluons acquire a mass, of order 800 MeV , providing the quasiparticle degrees of freedom for a TDA glueball formulation. The TDA eigenstates for two constituent gluons have orbital, L, excitations with a character...

Direct extraction of hadronic form factors from elastic-scattering data

Non-forward elastic hadron-scattering data are collected and analysed within the Regge approach. Through an analysis of the data in small bins in t, we have directly extracted the pomeron trajectory and the hadronic form factors (or reggeon couplings). We found higher values than usually used for the intercept and for the slope of the soft pomeron trajectory. The presence of zeros in t for the ...
